song 54 "I am the 1 percent"

I started out thinking I would just work out this little part of this song I remember from my childhood. The very words I used to sing to Denise when she reached for the light switch at bedtime :) I didn't really figure out the chords just right, but I came up with this instead. Same concept as Vanilla Ice's hit that he built on the chord progression from Under Pressure.

Growing up I didn't get much allowance

just a couple hundred dollars a week

I worked hard and I did all my chores

I even brushed my own teeth!

My first car was a Mercedes

and it was pretty nice and clean

but it was previously owned and it was one year old

and I had to wait until I was fifteen

I didn't have to pay to go to Harvard

but I had to do most of the work

People think that everything was handed to me

and they treat me like I'm some kind of jerk

I have a handful of nice cars

cars that I have bought

and though it's not really all that huge

I also own a yacht

Just like everyone else I have to pick out

my own outfit every day

and sometimes I drive to places

that don't even have valet

that aside from the fact that I work really hard
